Why are children under 5 not allowed?
The stairs in both cottages are steep, and could be dangerous for younger children. The garden in places is slippery, and there are open waterways in certain sections of the garden, therefore we feel it could be hazardous to younger visitors.
Is it possible to stay less than a week?
Mini breaks are available at off peak times. At peak times the cottages are usually rented out by the week. Though shorter breaks may be possible. Please contact us and we’ll try to accommodate you.

Are we able to explore the woodland area?
You are more than welcome to explore the whole of the garden. However, please be aware that the ground can be boggy and slippery in places, especially when walking upon slate which is usually wet. Please make sure you are wearing appropriate footwear.
In the woodland area, there is no fence separating the cottage garden with the adjoining garden, please be careful not to stray.
Is there designated parking areas?
Parking for each cottage is clearly displayed. Please be considerate when parking in the rear garden and ensure you close the access gate after you.
Parking at the front of the property is possible.
Please be aware that slate is slippery. It is not advised that you use the back stairs down to the patio area of Stone Cottage 1 when it is wet or dark. You will easily slip and hurt yourself. Please use the front door to gain access.
Are BBQs allowed?
Yes BBQs are allowed. Please ensure the BBQ is not left unattended at any time, and it is fully out before you retreat indoors. Please clean the BBQ fully after use, to enable others to use it. Coal for the BBQ is not provided. This can be purchased locally.
Is smoking allowed?
Both cottages are non smoking. When smoking in the garden, please be considerate and dispose of your waste considerately. Do not litter.
How often does the heating come on?
The heating usually comes on 3 times a day, but this depends upon the season. Please remember that the cottages are not new builds. They have got stone walls which allows heat to escape easily. To help keep the house warm, simply keep doors shut. This ensures heat is retained within the room and can not escape. This will ensure that the house is kept warm.
